The course is designed or officers in charge of a navigational watch, for experienced officers and those with navigational responsibilities. It is based on the IMO 1.27 Model Course syllabus. The training aims to equip the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to keep a safe navigational watch using electronic chart display and information systems (ECDIS), interfaced with other onboard equipment to maintain safety of navigation

Learning Objectives

A trainee successfully completing the course and passing the examination will be able to use ECDIS for his navigational watch, operate ECDIS equipment, select and assess all relevant information and take proper action.

The course is aimed at officers of the navigational watch (operational level), Chief Officers and Masters (management level) of the merchant navy.

This online course is based on an 80-hour in-person course.
