The objective of this course is to provide the student with a better understanding of the personal responsibilities and risks associated with dangerous liquids and petrochemicals. The goal is to provide education in proper terminology and procedures for such cargo transfers and transport safely without incident or consequence.
Successful completion of this course should enable candidates to serve on tankers or tank barges carrying bulk dangerous and petrochemical cargos in a capacity as an assistant tankerman in “Operational Capacities” in accordance with STCW Table A-V/1-1.1 and to perform specific duties and responsibilities related to those duties in connection with cargo and cargo equipment, provided that they are immediately responsible to a tankerman person-in-charge for the loading, discharging, care in transit, or handling of cargo.

This online course is based on a 32-hour in-person course.

Written Examination
The written exam can be taken online. You will receive three attempts for your exam. If you fail all three attempts, you must pay a retake fee
